کتاب The Handbook of Educational Theories یکی از جامعترین منابع مرجع در حوزه نظریههای آموزشی است که با هدف گردآوری مهمترین و پرکاربردترین نظریههای تعلیم و تربیت در یک مجموعه واحد تدوین شده است. این کتاب با مشارکت ۱۵۲ نویسنده و ۱۷ ویراستار از ۱۰ کشور، ۱۰۱ نظریه آموزشی را در قالب ۱۳ بخش موضوعی ارائه میکند و تلاش دارد خلأ موجود در دسترسی پژوهشگران به مجموعهای منسجم از نظریههای بنیادین آموزش را برطرف سازد.
ساختار کتاب طیف گستردهای از حوزههای فلسفه آموزش، نظریههای یادگیری، نظریههای تدریس، برنامه درسی، سواد و اکتساب زبان، مشاوره، رشد اخلاقی، مدیریت کلاس درس، ارزشیابی آموزشی، نظریههای سازمانی، رهبری آموزشی، عدالت اجتماعی و نظریههای نوین آموزش را پوشش میدهد. در هر فصل، علاوه بر معرفی مبانی نظری، اهداف، مفروضات و روند شکلگیری هر نظریه، کاربردهای عملی، نقدهای وارد بر آن، نمونههایی از پژوهشهای مبتنی بر نظریه و ابزارهای مرتبط نیز بررسی شده است. این رویکرد موجب شده است کتاب علاوه بر معرفی نظریهها، راهنمایی عملی برای انتخاب چارچوب نظری در پژوهشهای آموزشی فراهم آورد.

English Abstract
The Handbook of Educational Theories is a comprehensive reference that brings together the most influential and widely cited educational theories within a single volume. Compiled by 152 contributors and 17 section editors from ten countries, the handbook presents 101 educational theories organized into thirteen thematic sections, addressing the longstanding need for an integrated and accessible source of theoretical foundations for educational research.
The volume covers a broad spectrum of educational fields, including philosophy of education, learning theories, instructional theory, curriculum theory, literacy and language acquisition, counseling, moral development, classroom management, assessment, organizational theory, educational leadership, social justice, and teaching and education delivery.
